and today I want to share something personal and profound about my journey from being the artist behind the camera to stepping in front of it. 📸
As a boudoir and portrait photographer, I've always felt deeply connected to my clients' experiences, as they allow themselves to be vulnerable in front of my lens.
The raw, unfiltered beauty that emerges during our shoots is awe-inspiring, but the vulnerability, the fear, and even the self-judgment can be intense.
This year, something shifted within me.
I decided to take a leap of faith and hired one of my dearest friends and fellow photographer, Christina Jacobs, to capture the love and connection between my partner Salvador and me.
We chose the enchanting Neon Museum in Las Vegas as the backdrop.
For so long, I'd been the one orchestrating the creative direction, styling, and overall flow of photoshoots. I tried to control every detail, convinced it would yield the results I envisioned. However, I realized that this approach didn't fully allow the essence of the other artist to shine through.
So, for this shoot, I decided to relinquish control, embracing the timeless looks and letting go of my constant need for creative domination.
Instead, I focused on our connection and the ease and grace we share. The result? The images left me in tears.
As I looked through the gallery, I saw that Christina had captured us, our love, and our essence.
It was the gift that I've been offering to my clients for years, but for the first time in 2023, I could genuinely feel it for myself. These images are not just pictures; they're a testament to our love story. 🌟❤️
